Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch, December 7, 2017

Father Charlie and I went to the Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch (RPWR) in Gilbert on Thursday, Dec 7. We got there at about 7:10 AM. It was a beautiful morning – not too cold, but ‘crisp’ (in the low 40s), and it warmed nicely while we were there.

As with the last time I posted from RPWR (about three weeks ago), we failed to see the any of the unusual migrants that are being reported (e.g. Chestnut-sided Warbler, Black-and-white Warbler, Northern Parula, Surf Scoter, etc). So we had to settle for the ‘regulars’ at Water Ranch. But it’s always fun to go and see what we run into, and I can’t complain because even the regulars are diverse and great to see.

I also included a couple pictures of a Green-tailed Towhee that we saw in Dave’s backyard.

This is my third post in two days – I’m finally caught up with all my pictures.
