Mary Ann’s sister, Teresa, was here for the weekend. On Saturday, January 28, we went for a hike at Usery Mountain Regional Park (UMRP), and then stopped by the Granite Reef Recreation Area on the way back home. Teresa’s daughter, Jessica, also hiked with us.
It was our first trip to UMRP. We hiked Blevin’s Trail, which is a three mile loop trail, with a difficulty rating of ‘easy’. It was a beautiful day and a nice hike. There are a lot of desert plants there – Saguaros, Chollas, Ocotillos, Palo Verde trees, Creosote, Mesquite, etc, along with great views of the Superstition Mountains.
Granite Reef is just a few minutes out of the way, so we stopped to show Teresa the Salt River.
