Salt River, December 27, 2017

Mary Ann’s friend Casey from AndrĂ© House is new to Arizona, so we thought we’d take her to see the Salt River. We went to Granite Reef Recreation Area, and then to Coon Bluff Recreation Area. I posted about our trip there about a month ago, and not much has changed since. We saw a lot of wild horses. The Black Phoebes are very common, but I’ve tried many times to get a picture of one in flight without success. This time the Phoebe was active fly-catching, and almost hovered in place like a hummingbird, so I was able to get some in-flight shots (not great, but best of the in-flight Phoebe yet). We saw the Bald Eagles this time. They were across the river, so too far away for a good picture.
