Alex and Lisa Wedding October 6 2012

Our nephew Alex got married on Saturday 10/6/2012 in Upland CA. This post has a very brief description of our trip and some photographs.

Mary Ann and I left home at about 9:15 AM (I had some morning meetings) on Friday. We had a pretty uneventful drive to San Dimas, CA, which is about a 5 hour drive. With stops it took us about 6 hours. We arrived about the same time as Bob, Terry, Mom, and Ricci. We stayed at the Comfort Inn Suites in San Dimas.

The next day Bob, Mary Ann, and I walked through downtown San Dimas. We happened to be there for ‘Western Weekend’. There was a parade through town, with the high school band, local celebrities, and some booths where people were selling crafts.

Mary Jill arrived at about noon.

The wedding was at 2 PM at St. Anthony parish in Upland CA. It was a beautiful church and ceremony. The reception was at the Via Verde Country Club in San Dimas. We had an excellent dinner, and a lot of fun visiting with family and dancing and all the other stuff you do at wedding receptions. When we got back to the hotel we took advantage of the hot tub.

I did get a few bird pictures. Sunday morning Bob said he went for a walk and saw some Acorn Woodpeckers. I got my camera and Mary Ann and I went looking for them.

We left for home at about noon and arrived at about 5:30. We traveled about 740 miles, and our little Corolla got 35 mpg.

Here are some pictures from the trip:

Thank you, Joe, for the amazing pictures! The evening went so fast and I wish I had more time to visit with all of the Lester Family! You are wonderful people and I look forward to visiting many of you in the future. The sunset was spectacular that night and you surely captured it!!! Sorry it’s taken me so long to get to my e-mails and find such wonderful photos! Thanks so much for sharing Alex and Lisa’s wedding day!

Dad, what the heck were letting Mom do…. you’re supposed to be the voice of reason when she gets like that!

Fabulous couple, that Alex and Lisa… I am so sad to have missed this.
